What is going on with Kings Cross Station?
 

Can someone explain to me what's going on at Kings Cross Station? I know it's under contruction or something but we are still able to catch the trains (train and tube) there yes? I see notes that say "No peak hour entry to Nortern Line until Summer 2001". Does this mean that we can access the northern line from Kings Cross but in off peak hours? What are peak hours? Can we use that station to get the train to Cambridge? Thanks in advance!

Thank you Ben. So if I were to get into London from Cambridge around 2pm - I could take the Northern Line from there to Waterloo Station? <BR>-Eva <BR>P.S. What is the purpose of doing this during peak hours? Doesn't it make sense to disrupt service during non-peak.

Eva, re your P.S. I think the point is that the escalators are inoperable at all times and that there would be too many people for safe use of the stairs during rush hours. <BR> <BR>By the way, to get from KC to Waterloo, I think it would be better to take the Piccadilly line to Leicester Square and the Northern Line from there. <BR> <BR>ron

Eva, <BR>I was just at Kings Cross earlier this week and had no problems. There was some construction underway in the area, and sometimes the escalators were not working (usually the DOWN escalator), but I didn't notice any limited service. Hope this helps. <BR>Aloha <BR>Gomer
