What happens if I don't take my connecting flight to Prague?

Buy your tickets seperatly, when we went to europe we had tickets from Chicago to Munich, then home from Nice to Chicago. We had not dediced how we were getting to Nice yet (rail or fly), so just bought the There & Back part About 2 weeks before the trip Air France had a fantastic sale and we grabed a "round trip" from Munich to Nice for $75 per person and never used the other half of the ticket, since it was not tied in anyway to our origional flight home no-one even cared that we missed it.
