What happened to twenj.com?

This site has been much recommended here for info on Switzerland such as hiking tips. But I've found it doesn't work any more. Did it move? If so, doesn't anyone have the new site link?

Ed the man who founded it is no longer with us. Last I heard, it had been withdrawn.

Its creator, Ed Gehrlein, died something like two years ago. His widow, Julie, maintained it for a while, but her decision was to discontinue after a period.

Chronicled here - - and some info on the use of archival/cached pages that still might help you - - http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34508887

Best wishes,

Rex

Vino, that site was created by Ed and Julie. Ed died in 2001 and Julie kept it up until very recently. It was a good site, wasn't it?

I just did a search on the archive site, and the only information that came up was for Switzerland.

Does anyone have an archive link for Rome or Italy?

Thanks.

Have you tried Googling <twenj>?

When I heard the site was discontinued, I got into the Rome info (some of it) that way

I saved the twenj site in my bookmark list almost two years ago in anticipation of this trip. I guess I missed the previous posting about the fact that the site was taken down. Thanks for the link to the web archive. I was able to pull up what I wanted and made sure to copy/paste it into a Word document so I will never loose it.

TuckH, thanks for the link. I'm in the processing of copying as much of Rome as I can.

Thanks again, Carol
