Robert, did you mean panne gelato? I think that was the flavor I got at a little gelato stand on the beach near the San Remo casino. It was absolutely delicious. Wished I never saw this thread - now I can't stop thinking about it!

Mari:<BR><BR>Panna can be a flavor of gelato (made with cream, sugar and a little thickening powder), bot Robert meant whipped cream that is often (luckily not always) available at ice cream stands which is used for topping the ice cream (with a little bitter cocoa or powdered cinnamon added on top). It only adds fats and no taste (better to have e cup of panna by itself), makes the melting gelato dribble from the cone while you are eating the panna and sometimes gets curdled when someone is risky enough to add it to a fruit sorbetto.
