What European City has the most "energy"?

Yes, my first trip to Europe did involve a visit to 9 Cities in 20 days. I saw alot of places including: Lisbon, Madrid, Rome, Florence, Naples, Amsterdam, London, Paris, and Vienna. Each City had it's own charm, but I wonder which one had the largest crowds and energy. Maybe Madrid, or Rome.

Which European City has the highest energy level due to crowds, traffic, emotion and passion?

hetismij Oct 18th, 2007 01:04 AM

Good Grief!

kerouac Oct 18th, 2007 01:18 AM

My energy is drining away by the minute. Since France has the most nuclear energy and Paris is probably radioactive, I wouldn't write it out of the energy contest. The crowds in Madrid and Rome are probably just because those countries can't afford to buy cars.

CRAZY4TRAVEL Oct 18th, 2007 03:06 AM

Sounds like you took a Globus tour....9 cities in 20 days..sounds about right. Please give up on your quest to ask our opinions on such trivial questions.

Dukey Oct 18th, 2007 03:06 AM

None of them, IMO, when compared to Tokyo...you really should go there, Guru...it is cleaner than any city in Europe, has better shopping, and the people are actually polite.

cristine27 Oct 18th, 2007 03:12 AM

travelguru1, some people CAN get rude with no reason.. anyway, from the cities i've already visited i can vote London as number 1.
But tell us also which city YOU think has the 'highest energy'?
Dukey i would love to visit Tokyo but ..too expensive right now! :-)

wally34949 Oct 18th, 2007 03:19 AM

I believe they never sleep in Barcelona. The city goes 24/7.

alanRow Oct 18th, 2007 03:24 AM

<<< I believe they never sleep in Barcelona. >>>

Too scared of the pickpockets

caroline_edinburgh Oct 18th, 2007 03:29 AM

Naples - one of my favourite cities.

Padraig Oct 18th, 2007 03:56 AM

Whichever one I am in at the time. That's an existentialist point of view.

RM67 Oct 18th, 2007 04:00 AM

Chernobyl?

Clifton Oct 18th, 2007 04:05 AM

LOL RM67. That has to be it.

ira Oct 18th, 2007 04:11 AM

What's your opinion?

janisj Oct 18th, 2007 05:25 AM

The OP's opinions? Nah . . . .

We already know he doesn't like Europeans and thinks the food sucks. (his first trip was supposedly this whirlwind tour - but on another thread talks about his "last trip to Europe" and about the changes in European travel/costs in the last 30 years. I think many of us know who tg1 was last week . . . . )

CRAZY4TRAVEL Oct 18th, 2007 05:26 AM

Well lets see...the burning questions travelguru1 had in the past 24 hours since signing up at Fodor's are:

What European city has the most trees

Older men and women walking arm and arm in Madrid...whats the deal

Don't Europeans get tired of walking the streets all day and night

What European city has the most trees

Loved Europe but disliked the cold and unfriendly European people

Do you eat out for breakfast when traveling and staying at motels

Cruises do you watch TV in your cabin while cruising

What ever happened to the Days Inn Motel chain

Do you nap or rest in your hotel room during the day while traveling in Europe

Are there locally based chain restaurants in Europe

If your not a troll, that's the longest list of questions without any real point I've seen on the board by one poster...within a 24 hour period none the less.

I'm not trying to be rude but this board is used by most as a tool for travel planning and sharing information and experiences.

lobo_mau Oct 18th, 2007 05:42 AM

Paris, the city of lights. Mostly during the night.

rkkwan Oct 18th, 2007 05:44 AM

Same type of posts and questions "distant_traveler" asked in a hurry two weeks ago.

Similar tone and format too.

capxxx Oct 18th, 2007 05:44 AM

Reykiavic, but only on Friday/Saturday nights.

waring Oct 18th, 2007 06:29 AM

London by far. Don't actually like the place to live in, but to visit it has the biggest buzz.

hetismij Oct 18th, 2007 06:30 AM

rkkwan - you are right - maybe that explains the obsession with trees - looking for palm trees maybe, and energy - to power their fan?

cristine27 Oct 18th, 2007 06:33 AM

CRAZY4TRAVEL sorry for saying that you were rude. I wasn't YET aware about travelguru1's 'problem'...

kerouac Oct 18th, 2007 06:50 AM

Since we've already counted the trees in each city, maybe we're supposed to start counting the light poles now.

suze Oct 18th, 2007 07:04 AM

traveguru1~ Since you were just there what do you think?

Nora_S Oct 18th, 2007 08:10 AM

This was NOT TG's first trip to Europe, at. Under his/her previous screen name of "distant_traveler, here is one of many random (and inconsistent) things sh/e said:

<<<<I have traveled to all 50 States and to over 40 foreign countries, but still get nervous before I go on a trip. I am also claustrophobic and afraid to fly on occasion. I also get keyed up before we arrive at the airport about the whole thing. Now a days there are so many things that could go wrong:

Parking lot full, I get sick on the bus to the terminal from motion sickness, long lines to check in, security lines, delayed flight, stuck on tarmac, turbulence, passport problems, taxi driver will not understand my request in a foreign city, terror attack, noisy hotel room, hard uncomfortable mattress at the hotel, my ATM card will not work, flight cancelled. I could go on and on.

Do you worry about your flight/trip the night before as you try to get to sleep?>>>>

Same poster. The style is unique and unmistakable.

clarasong Oct 18th, 2007 12:03 PM

Travelguru1: Are you sure you are not posting from the parking garage? Such a stream of innane posts, must be a boring day at your house.

suze Oct 18th, 2007 12:10 PM

is this the same guy as the old 'bunchgarden' or something like that, even before distant_traveler?

Aduchamp1 Oct 18th, 2007 12:41 PM

There is another post which asks which European city has the most trees. I am still counting but when that is done, we can cut them down and use the wood for energy.

CRAZY4TRAVEL Oct 18th, 2007 01:16 PM

No offense taken cristine27
