Is this thread serious? About travelling to France or Italy?
I've never taken anything, except prescription drugs, a decent appetite and Compeed if I'm planning serious (>10 miles a day) walking. I have no intention of ever doing otherwise. And in over 40 years of travel and residence there, I've never once wished I'd brought anything.

I take very little if traveling to most of Europe or within US. Try to save sample size packs of things like Advil so I am not toting lots of bottles. However, when we went to Egypt I brought a traveling pharmacy - antibiotics, Erythromycin eye ointment, diarrhea remedies, ace wraps, first aid supplies. Almost everything was used by someone in our group - after they tried to figure out the identity of stuff sold in Egyptian drugstores. (I am sure it is fine medication, but we just had no idea what it was)
