Huh ?

DenverDice Sep 13th, 2005 10:48 AM

I bring a bedsheet from home - it's flat, packs easy and in some of the sketchy hotels I've stayed in has been a real source of comfort!

I cut up those disposable Dove face cloths in four, and bring those.

A book or 2 - Yikes! (fiction)

Even though I have watch w/alarm, I'll bring my travel alarm clock that has a picture of my dog in it.

Tiff Sep 13th, 2005 10:50 AM

Ahhhhhhhhhh ! ((I))

DenverDice Sep 13th, 2005 10:52 AM

Oh...and for vacations on hot locales, I can't live without wet wipes!

Aside from all the usual, these are the Absolute Musts:
1. The (Englihs) cocker spaniel, of course. She spent the day with the groomer's so she'll look nice when we leave the UK next week for our vacation in western Austria, Lake Como and Bavaria.
2. Earplugs. Occasionally DH is a horrible snorer, these are a life (or marriage) saver.
3. Slippers. Although a few of the hotels we'll be staying at are spa hotels and provide slippers for guests, we like to bring our own to wear around the room.
4. Small European hairdryer. Most of the hotels provide a hair dryer in the rooms, but they're sometimes pretty feeble.

I always buy a Discover Magazine before we board our flight. I love that magazine and it makes great reading throughout the trip....I leave it for some one else to enjoy in the airport on the way home.

Beyond that I make sure I have my tooth guard. If I am stressed I'm really hard on my teeth in my sleep so it's a 'just in case' item packed into our bags.

geez, I thought I was high maintenance but now, I've realized after reading all the posts above, I'm pretty low maintenance...there's nothing I have to have...besides my clothes, of course, and toileteries....oh, wait, my own hairdryer! Hotel hairdryers are usually no better than hand dryers in public bathrooms!

A hot water bottle for travel in the off season.

J_Correa Sep 13th, 2005 11:24 AM

Other than the basics, I like to bring my feather pillow (compressed in a space bag) and something to read.
