What do you do on NYE in Paris? Have you ever taken the River Cruise

We will be in Paris for New Years Eve and was wondering if a river boat cruise would be a fun way to spend the evening. We want to enjoy the feel of Paris but do not want the rowdy crowds. Would we be better served to stay at one of the nicer hotels for this evening? Would love to hear some suggestions from the Paris experts.

We will be in Paris for NYE as well. I was hoping there would be lots of suggestions on this thread, but sadly, no one has responded. Maybe topping it will help.

Anyone?

We went for dinner on Isle St Louis last year for NYE. It wasnt crowded at all. almost all restaurants do a set menu for the occassion so be sure to make reservations!

What Parisians typical do for La Nuit de Saint Sylvestre is make reservations (WELL in advance) at their favorite restaurant, which will almost always have a set menu and sometimes entertainment. Or they stay home with their families.

I wouldn't do a river cruise at that time of year, I don't think (I'm not even sure you can - a lot of the boat companies don't run in winter - maybe Les Yachts de Paris has a NYE special of some sort, though), and I'm not an advocate of meals on those cruises anyway.

I'd pick some classic place like Bofinger or Le Train Bleu and make a reservation (now!).

thanks we did Le Train Bleu a couple of years ago for Christmas Eve and it is a great place. I was thinking about the restaurant at the Crillon. Have never been to Bofinger, that may work.

Yes, topping has helped.
