What did Fodors do to the Media Coverage Post?

They didn't pull it, but they yanked my opinion about the news being all about money, ratings, fear and consuming because of fear. There's not the option to post to the thread all of a sudden...What, is Big Brother watching?

It's just been pushed down by other posts past the first 50, so you 'd need to click on "next 50" at the bottom of the page to get to it.

This is a *very* busy board....

As I said, I know they didn't pull it, I obviously knew where to find it. I'm just asking why you can't post on it any longer.

Sometimes FOdors doesn't like long threads that become totally opinion/current events/politics. If they mainly deleted your post, they probably didn't think it was very balanced or reasonable in tone or thought or language. One can post opinions without being inflammatory or fringe. They also will close down some threads like that which leaves them for reading, but they can't continue. That's obviously what they did.

This isn't Hyde Park, it's a private company. I am more tolerant than many about posts and discussions on this board (or anywhere), but I get real tired of people whining about free speech, Big Brother etc in relation to a private company's own forum. If you don't like it, start your own website or go elsewhere. I have never seen Fodors being biased in their deletions or eliminating negative posts about their products or travel in general, and that is great.

For example, I post on a professional BB related to health insurance, and the owner of that board deletes any post referencing a product from someone they consider a competitor. If you really want to see Big Brother in action, go to AOL.

Fodor's seems to have "locked" that thread, as is their right as the owner of the site. Don't know their reason, but probably because it's not really travel.

Christina, that's too funny what you said about Hyde Park. I just saw that this morning on the Travel Channel on a special about London. I'm going to be there in August, guess I'll save my thoughts for then.

Cheers.
