What cloths to take on a Mediterranean cruise

We are taking a long cruse and wondered how many winter cloths should we pack. We arrive in Barcelona on Oct. 10 and cruise north to Monte Carlo, then south along the western coast of Italy and around the boot and up the eastern side to Venice Oct. 23-24. Then south on the Greek coast to the island and on to Istanbul in November then Athens to depart on the 7th. The temperature charts don't tell the whole story. Please help, my suitcase is heavy.

I recommend you go to CruiseCritic.com and post there. You are likely to get more responses. You could post on either the forum for your cruise line or the Ports of Call forum.

You don;t need any winter clothes. You trip is in the fall and in the southern parts of europe. So although it might be a little chilly at night, esp on deck, you don't need full on winter clothes. Think fall clothing and layers - but do be prepared for rain - some sort of water proof, sturdy folding umbrella and waterproof walking shoes for shore excursions.

You do need warmer clothes, it can get cold at the end of October in Greece, and it will be even colder on the ship, outside during the cruise.
Athens can be cold and rainy ( when I say cold I mean around 7 - 10 C.....) but there might also be sunny days where you can even enjoy a meal sitting outside.

It's cool/cold in the morning and evening. I did a similar cruise in the middle of October and usually wore a scarf and windproof North Face jacket or fleece. Further South in Cyprus and Egypt I only needed a short sleeve t-shirt. I'm typically cold blooded and liked a long sleeve t-shirt most of the time. Just dress in layers and you'll be fine. Here's a link to my blog with images from my cuise. http://theenglishexplorer.com/2007/1...mediterranean/

Thanks for all the help!! Do you think we should take some shorts for Santorini, Crete, or Lesbos? We will be there the first week of November.

Don't think you will run into any shorts weather - but I guess it depends on how much luggage you are taking.

Thanks for all the help. You saved me at least 5 lbs. Now I can plan on where to dine, and what not to miss.
