What cities in Poland have you visited?

I went to Krakow a couple of years ago and thought it was wonderful. Now I plan on visiting Warsaw, and I have some extra days before I fly out of there.

I think I'd like to go to Gdansk because of the association with Solidarity and Lech Walesa. From the pictures I've seen, it looks quite attractive. There is an inexpensive flight from Vilnius, which will be my last Baltic city, and a truly cheap flight from Gdansk to Warsaw. I think I can fit in one more city. I was thinking about Poznan or Wroclaw.

Any thoughts? Was there a Polish city you especially liked. I love beautiful architecture, history, culture, and generally wandering around taking in the ambiance.

Wroclaw is an interesting city.

WillTravel Jan 30th, 2015 11:34 AM

Yes, I loved Wroclaw too. Warsaw has many interesting scenes happening, and I would like to have spent more time there.

Been to Gdansk for a couple days.
If you go let me know and I can help if you have questions

Just to Krakow and Warsaw. I would love to return to Poland.

I've only visited Krakow and Warsaw and they were fantastic, but my husband spent quite a lot of time in Gdansk in the 90s and loved it. I think Wroclaw is next on my list.

Big thumb up on Gdansk. Not just important viz. Solidarity - it's where WWII started.

Toran, Warsaw, Wroclaw and Krakow were all very interesting.

Krakow and Warsaw-loved both cities and also would love to return to Poland!

Kraków, Żnin (to visit Biskupin) Toruń, Frombork, Malborg, Gdynia, Gdańsk, Sopot, Zakopane, Szczecin, Hel, Jastarnia, Biała Podlaska, Poznań.

The Tri-City area and Krakow are my favourites. I would pick Frombork over Malborg, Torun over Warsaw.

Visited Krakow and it was one of my favorite cities in Europe. Helpful people, great food, interesting architecture. But it's a city to visit for a few days. We took an excursion to the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Very interesting.

Last summer I spent four weeks in Wroclaw and never ran out of things to do. A very interesting city, and not yet spoilt by tourism like Krakow.

Hii! :) Last summer I was in Gdynia and I spent wonderful time there! It was amazing! I sunbathed, rested on the beach and felt great! My hotel - Neptun Hotel - was amazing too! Especially service! The weather was beautiful and my kids had fun too. I recommend it to you!

I traveled all around Poland last October and loved Gdansk. Take a side trip to Sopot. It is very pretty there.

A lot of people mentioned Polish seaside. I love te Polish sea too. :) Tricity is great but I love Ustka more than Tricity. It's perfect place for looking for an the amber. And villages near to Ustka are beautiful. And I enjoyed my staing in really great hotel which made me feel even better. :)
And I like Lublin so much. This is small city but nice and calm. There is a neogothical castle which looks like an owl. :)

chryzeida Feb 26th, 2015 12:12 PM

Oh, this hotel next to Ustka is the Kormoran Hotel in Rowy, small and beautiful village. Who knows, maybe you'll be looking for something nice in this area. ;)

If you want to know more about cities and regions in Poland as well as create your itinerary, check Poland Just Now site. For most urban explorers Krakow, Warszawa, Poznan, Gdansk and Wroclaw is the choice.

Zakopane! I think this place is amazing. I've seen Morskie Oko - one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.
Moreover, Krakow (probably the better Polish place for tourists).
And I'm thinking of Polish seaside too, but maybe not Gdansk (I want to see something smaller).

Krakow and a lot of cities/villages of Polish seaside, for example Tricity (Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot), Swinoujscie, Ustka. You really should go to Gdansk. It isn't too expensive. And you can touch the history, like places connected to Walesa, as you mentioned.
And Wroclaw is more worth seeing than Poznan, definitely.
