What beach should I go to in April?

Hi,

I will be in Spain the 3rd week of April. I am visiting Madrid and Barcelona, but wanted to tag a beach town visit for about 3 days.

Any ideas?

April..you will be lucky to find a beach that is warm enough for sunbathing or swimming! Fine for walking along. The Costa del Sol would be the best bet for beach weather but still not a bet with the odds in your favor.

We were in Marbella the last week of April and it was in the low 80's - so definitely warm enough for sunbathing. We swam only in the pool - so don't know how cold the sea was.

Sitges is a cute beach town about 20 miles from Barcelona. You can take the train from BCN. I went for the day, but looks like it would be fun for a few days. Not sure about the weather in April. Probably warm - not hot. Longer trip would be to Mallorca or Ibiza - highly recommended.

We were in Nerja (very nice town) the first week of April laast year. The air temps were in the high 70's and the water was ok for wading. I suspect by late April it might be bearable but not tropical.
