What are the posting rules?

I know that this could be construed as an advertisement for my non-commercial travel site but according to others who use it they told me to do this because of its value to travelers. I hope I'm not breaking any rules on this dicussion board by doing so.

I am a permanently and totally disabled veteran who spends his leisure hours designing web sites for travel, military and veterans issues, and disabled assistive technology. Originally, I designed a travel site mostly for military, retirees, and veterans, however, the site information evolved and now enriches the travel experience for everyone who travels. The site contains over 370 links that allow access to over 500,000 travel resources. The response has been wonderful. My travel planning and ssistance and virtual travel tours information applys to anyone who travels as well as the travel discountinformation. Here are are a few of the many unsolicited testimonials:

"I think your site is fantastic. The information I have obtained from your
site for planning my first .... (I hope) trip to Europe has helped me
greatly."
J. J. Brandeberry, San Antonio, Florida

"Ed, your web site is great."
Dan Rivas, Waco Texas

"Very thankful I found this site. I found it in a military map my daughter
bought me. Now I have it entered into my favoritees. Thanks for so
much information on retirees travel opportunities.."
Joe Southerland

"Your site is tops and I love the easy access to real time info. Keep it
up."
Allen Jeska

"WOW!! This is spectacular. I will use this site if and
when I go to Europe. Looks great."

The testimonials keep coming in on a daily basis .Here are some more recent ones. Its really great for my ego, but it makes me work harder to constantly improve the site..

Peter Neuendorfer

"Your website is wonderful and has links to just about every site we
could need to research our next trip. THANKS for all the thought
and work which went into your site."
[email protected]
USN, 0-6, Ret.

"This may be a stupid question ... BUT, just exactly WHO are you anyway? I
visit the BB often and just was curious as to who you are? Where did learn so much about travel?"
LOUPHIL @aol.com

" ..Your HOPS site. is GREAT Again, thank you kindly"
Al Raistrick

"WOW, I could spend the day here. I can't believe that I can access this much
information on one site. I will use your site often.
Thank you,"
Da Saint 0:-)
[email protected]

"Sir, your site has a vast amount of information. Probably the best I've seen. "
Charlie Rutledge

The site includes the following information:

1.Military Hops and MWR Lodgings-(Fly for free, and stay for cheap)
2.Featured Sites of the Week- (This week's featured city-Athens)
3. Travel Discounts-"Includes Ed's TOP TEN Travel sites and ALSO RANs)
4. Travel Planning and Assistance-(Over 70 Valuable Travel Resources-)
5.Virtual Travel Tours-(View It before you do it.)
6. Space A Plan B-(Flight disount links and emergency advice.)

The site can be viewed at:
http://vetstravel.net

Ed Prifogle
[email protected]

PS. Post your opinion in my Guest Book. Happy Traveling

Ed, I just visited your site. First, it is wonderful, very intuitive and so full of helpful information. The Travel Planning section alone will be tremendously advantageous and a valuable resource.

Second, I don't believe you have broken any posting rules. I saw no advertising and don't think there is any "commercial value" (to you) if I visit there. (So, please, no "pings" from the peanut gallery.)

Third, this is a "definite bookmark" (IMO) for anybody who wants to travel this big blue marble in the sky. So MUCH information, for everybody, not just military personnel.

Lastly, Ed, thank you. I'll be using this one a lot. And why don't you think about becoming a regular Fodorite? You obviously have a lot of information in that noodle of yours.

Linda (A retired USAF E-9)

As long as it's non-commercial, which this is, no problem:) It looks GREAT -- and good for you for finding this outlet for your obvious abilities:)
