We stayed on the Lido in Hotel Augusta Atlanta in one of their penthouses. It was great but quite hot for the kids who slept in the loft. This was in July; we paid 200.00/night including breakfast for teh 4 of us. For us it was a great location. If you decide to stay there, ask them about one of their family rooms and ask how hot the room will be. In our room the AC could only cool the lower level.

Good afternoon, Vince
Have used the hotels Saturnia, DoPozzi,
Ala, and Carlton, but none of these
could be considered a resort type.
All are within Venice and go into www.Veniceinfo.it/ for additional information.
Have been satisified with each of these hotels howwever that is a personal preference, others may disagree. If you
want some suggestions for ristorantes
drop me a line and will send you a copy
of those used by us for many years.
Richard of LaGrange Park, Il..

If you can afford it, I agree with the above recommendation for the Cipriani or Excelsior. The Cip has a huge swimming pool and the Excelsior , on Lido, is right on the ocean with great cabanas for guests. Kids would love either. There is a resort hotel on Lido called the Hotel Golf Residence that looks nice from the road - they advertise a room for three at $186 during high season. Check out venicehotels.com for good listings on Lido. Hotel Augusta Atlanta, recommended above, is in a nice neighborhood.
