I find this to be a really odd post. If you need it to be explained you should stop going. Some people don't like Venice. I do not understand. No one can get me to like a place I do not.

I simply thought maybe there was something there I didn't know about, but I guess not.

Hello TravMimi, as others have said we are are enchanted with different places. I love Venice but there is a small city in Italy that is adored by many travellers, especially the English and quite frankly I don't like it at all. In ways it almost gives me the creeps, lol. If you have taken the time to wander throughout Venice and have not just stayed around the San Marco Piazza and the Rialto area than it seems as though Venice is not your "cup of tea". Uhm, I wished "I had to go again in June" lol. If you feel compelled to go with your companions to Venice and stay there for some nights perhaps while they get acquainted with Venice you could take a day trip to Padova or Bologna on your own? Just a thought.

I understand likes and dislikes in traveling are all personal and relative to experience. Some say mountains and think of north Georgia, some say water and think of Venice. I was just curious.
