LOVE the Azores Islands, esp. San Miguel. Quite possibly the most beautiful, unspoiled, adorable place on earth!

Spent 12 days on SanMiguel in the fall of 1999.We based ourselves in Ponta Delgada, from there took local buses and inexpensive taxis to see this incredibly beautiful island..great climate. Worth a visit. One of the best kept secrets for a holiday destination!!!!!

acores(azores)as you say,are the most beautiful place in my eyes you should go there in the summer all kinds of festivals going on from street bullfights to dancing etc.

Tony,you need to check your facts first before posting something like this here,there was no thread in the acores in fact waht happen was a plane from airtransat run out of fuel while in the air with 350 people, lajes field was where they made their emergency landing it was all on dateline new if you care to check it out.The people on that flight are really lucky to be alive,maybe you were just passing along something you heard but for us who have family there is very upseting i wouldn't want anything to happen to anyone but specially my love ones.
