What About Jules Verne Eiffel Tower Paris?
 

Have any of you fine folk ever dined at Jules Verne Eiffel Tower?

The view must be magnificent, but what about the food? Looking for special--ocassion restaurant.

Never mind. The restaurant is closed until Spring 2019 for renovation.

That's too bad. I haven't but have at 58 Tour Eiffel, twice actually. The first time was ok from what I remember and it was at night. My friend and I were dumb because we booked it as part of a tour. Its a funny story now but not funny then. I then took my family for lunch a few years ago. The food was good and they gave us a table by the window shocking as we showed up late. Its probably not what you are looking for but my family enjoyed the treat.

I don’t know if you saw my post in the lounge. Take a look at L’Oiseau Blanc atop the Paris Peninsula for special occasion. Very good food, beautiful views and excellent service.

Yes, I saw The White Bird 🕊️ but I didn't really like the menu.

We will probably end up at Le Violon d'Ingres. I have been there several times because the Countess dear Billy likes it.

We do want to try Aux Lyonnais.

I just hope that nobody forgets that anybody who is interested in going to the Jules Verne when it reopens that absolutely every review from the past is no longer valid, since the chef and staff will be completely different. Maybe even some of the décor.

I wonder how many people actually go for the view as much as the food.

Or just to be able to say that they have been there.

But I have read lots of reports where people either said the food was fantastic or sometimes not as good as they were hoping for the price, so it is a factor for a few people.

I’ve eaten there a few times in the last dozen years, probably only the last time under Alain Ducass. I have to say that the service was snootier there than anywhere I’ve eaten in Paris.

Haven't tried it yet (last time we were in Paris was August), but it looks good to me.

Been twice to 58 : food is mediocre and the wine we got was bad one time, barely correct the second. But the view is nice.
My brother went to Jules Verne and loved it, yet he doesnt' part with his money easily.
Been to Monparnasse tower long ago, same for me : medicore food, great view.
Another great view is Zyriab (Zyriad ?) : lebanese food on top of IMA (institut monde arabe) in the 5th with a splendid view towards Notre Dame.
Good food, but expensive. Wine was more than ok.
Another great view is on top of the MElia hotel in La Defense : perspective towards Arc de triomphe and les champs. And of course, behind the arche.
Don't know if they sell food, I had a glass of wine.

Oh, go to the What's for Dinner thread for October and see AGM's most recent meal in Paris. I'm being too lazy to look up the resto name.

The food is quite good. It's an expansive restaurant. The view is amazing. And you must book a table months before you go !

I love it how people are totally ignoring the title of this thread. No wonder people get fed up and leave these forums in disgust.

I agonized for weeks before I made a reservation, now 3 years ago. So expensive. So glad I made the choice to dine here. Reservation time spanned day light into night viewing which was spectacular. Our group had a couple of picky eaters, but every one was happy with their choices. I will say that the waiter was a joy, not stuffy, not condescending, Really a lifetime memory.

I went to Le Violon d'Ingres when I was in Paris in March and thought it was an exceptional place for a special occasion. Loved everything about it. If you do end up there, I am a little bit jealous.

In Post #2 Thin amends his prior post and says the Jules Verne is closed due to construction. People read that, and offered alternatives.
