Driving directions from Clifden to Westport (we've been to Kylemore Abbey--don't need to go again) if you did that would be great. Also did you drive up to Donegal and if so, how long did it take you and what was your route? Where would you go for a nice but simple lunch in Westport? Many thanks.

A great place for lunch is Asgard III, which is in the Quays part of Westoitr (waterfront area about 1 mile out of the actual town). Comfy couches and open fire - my kind of place!

For evening meals we ate in The Lemon Peel, which came very highly recommended and was excellent. Food great and srevice good too - quite expensive though. We also ate an evening meal at our hotel - Knockranny Hotel - which was extremely good. This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at - everything was perfect.

There are so many pubs, but some of my favourites are Matt Molloys for a traditional Irish pub, and Cosy Joes which was brilliant. Cosy Joes also does a lovely pub grub lunch for a very good price.

Feel free to ask any other questions.

I can't really tell you much about driving distances, etc., as I never take enough notice - I sit back and relax and let my boyfriend take care of driving and navigating!!

Angela
