Wellington England infomation?

Near Wellington is a RAF museum that I am thinking about paying a visit. There is a small town, Wellington near to the museum and I am thinking of spending a couple of nights. Can someone offer any information or thoughts?

There's at least 5 towns/villages in the UK called Wellington. Or are you talking about the Wellington Aviation Museum in Gloucestershire? Or the RAF Museum at Cosford or the one at Hendon?

Sorry about that. I mean the one near Cosford in Shropshire.

Clicking on the link in this window may help. The link appears where it says Telford & Shropshire, ABOVE the aqua bar that says Shropshire with the heart on the left-hand side.

RAF Cosford is some distance from Wellington, Shrops: you have to go through or round the relatively substantial town of Telford to get from one to t'other.

Wellington's a fairly run of the mill small town: the accommodation guide at www.shropshiretourism.info lists only a couple of B+Bs, though the town's pleasantly located at the bottom of The Wrekin (what counts as a hill in these parts). You'll find a wider choice round Ironbridge.

Apart from Ironbridge, try to get to see Boscobel while you're in the area: it's where Charles II hid in the tree.
