"Weird and Wacky" sites for kids - Rome/Florence/Venice

Fodor's "Around Rome with Kids" includes a "Weird and Wacky" section. Looking for some out of the ordinary sites in Rome, Florence, and Venice.

We are traveling this July, and the 5 kids are ages 5-12. Thanks!!

not weird or wacky but fun for kids is to climb to the top of the Duomo in Florence, St. Peter's in Rome and the campinelle(sp?) in Venice.

Rome: Go cat-spotting in Largo Argentina and visit the cat sanctuary.
See the enormous noses and feet in the Palazzo dei conservatori on the Campidoglio
Lunapark in EUR
Via Sannio clothes market is fun but more for teenagers perhaps
Visit the pyramid and Testaccio market and look through the hole in the Piazza Cavalieri di Malta on the Aventino
In July there will be lots of open air events like TevereExpo and Big Gym along the river where there are games to try out, concerts and stuff to eat.

My kids loved looking at mask making shops in Venice and finding the "book pooper" statue. Glass blowing was huge hit. Finidng high water marks and wathching boats collect trash. For better or worse there are "crime and punishment museums in every city we visited - we did not go in but my brother and his kids loved them.

The Capuchin Monk Crypt in Rome is a weird one. A fun activity would be to rent one of the 4-6 person bicycle things in Villa Borghese park. There are also pedal-cars for rent there.
