Weekly Rental in Dordogne
 

My husband and I are planning a trip to PAris & Dordogne in mid to late September for his 50th birthday. We would like to rent a small cottage for a weekly. Any suggestions on how to find a romantic cottage for two?

You might get in touch with the British agency, Simply P&eacute;rigord, at www.simply-perigord.com. It's run by David and Colleen Snitch. They list more than 75 houses for rent in the P&eacute;rigord, in the heart of the Dordogne, and they have very nice places. And they speak perfect English, which always helps.<BR><BR>(And for those of you ready to fire your Kalachnikovs in my direction, no, my house isn't listed with them, nor do I get a commission (rather, I pay them quite a tidy sum each year for various services) and it isn't suitable for just two people anyway, so hold your fire.) How ridiculous that I should even have to consider typing this disclaimer, but on Fodor's anything is possible.

There are 3 very good web sites I have used: www.francedirect.net, www.hotels-restau-dordogne.org, and www.gite.com. Also www.123france.com/europe/france/aquitaine has many listings. Finally, try www.france-publicite.com. Hope some of these will give you what you are looking for.
