Weekly bus pass in Rome
 

Is the weekly bus pass in Rome also valid for the tour bus or would tickets for that have to be purchased seperately?

If you mean the 110 hop on hop off bus, no, the weekly bus pass does not cover it.

The tourist map with the off/on #110 bus route I got earlier this year indicates that it is possible to buy something called a "biglietti inegrati" ("integrated ticket") which seems to give a small discount on the #110 bus if it is purchased with a metrebus card.

By the way, we found it was slightly cheaper to buy individual tickets at 1 euro/ride than to get the weekly metro and bus passes. We took buses once or twice a day maximum. I know from another post you are staying in a very central location in the ghetto area so you can walk easily to many major tourist sites. However, the convenience of buying one ticket for the week is a factor.

Please give me some information about these passes. We will be in Rome for 4 days only, but because we are in our 70s and tend to get tired more easily, (in spite of trying to keep in shape at the gym) we probably would be riding the bus more often. And it's gotta be cheaper than taking taxis everywhere!!

Where do you buy these passes/ And for how much? What restrictions?

Go to www.atac.roma.it, click on Biglietti and then on English and go to the description of the CIS. It's 16 Euro, good on all kinds of public transport, valid for 7 days starting when you first validate (stamp) it in one of the yellow machines at Metro stations and on buses.

Also look at the description of the Roma Pass - only in Italian at atac.roma, but in English at www.romapass.it - which might be suitable for you. Valid for three days (ends at midnight of third day), includes free public transport and free entry to two museums or archeological sites and reductions on admission to others. It costs 20 Euro.

charnees - You might want to conside the Roma and Piu Pass for 25E which included the Leonardo Express from the airport. The regular Roma Pass for 20E doesn't include that train.
