OK - There are a hundred+ musts. You only have 2.5 days. So there is no way to give you useful advice w/o knowing what sorts of things you enjoy.

I'd start by clicking on DESTINATIONS above. There is a lot of info about London and then you can come back and ask some questions w/ a bit more focus.

My daughter and I had tea at Harrod's- that was so nice! Also loved the National Gallery- pick up a brochure at the front desk that pictures the highlights to see- otherwise you'll be there all day!

Besides tea, waxed museums, Oxford street and other tacky waste of time, there are a lot of historical sites and great museums. Tower of London, British museum and so many others you will need a month to scratch the surface. Read up and then, when there, you will know where to head without wasting time. Enjoy!!

Do the Hop On -Hop Off bus, you can pick it up from many places in London. It takes you by most of the major attractions.

For a short weekend--I think the hop on and off bus "tour" is a great overview. Study the brochure carefully and I think if you buy your ticket after 4 pm you can use it into the next day. their website is great for planning. ..

The second one works.
Here is the link to the London "Big Bus" hop on hop off bus. There are 2 different ones but we used the "Big Bus" one and the ticket was good for 48 hours. The ticket also includes a cruise on the Thames and some walking tours. The bus goes to just about all of Londons major sights and is a great way to get an overview of London. We rode it all around the first(jet lagged day) to get an overview and after once around we started getting off and back on.Great way to see London.

If you visit Covent Gardens, which we did, (sigh) just last Weekend... we enjoyed a restaurant called "Porter's English Restaurant. We had delicious steak and ale pie, and St. Peter's ale. Cozy inside, too. Afterwards, we paused to watch the performers on the stage, then went to see "Spamalot" at the Palace Theatre.
