Weekend in Bratislava

I'm thinking of going to Bratislava in the next week or two with my partner. We'd be leaving London very early on Saturday morning and arriving back again late on Sunday night, giving us two days and one night there. I don't know too much about it yet and was wondering if anyone could give us any personal recommendations for hotels, restaurants or general sightseeing. We want to have a nice relaxing weekend, so having a leisurely lunch, walking around and so on would be great. We were thinking of staying at the Mercure hotel (has anyone stayed? Would you recommend it?) and would like to try local food, beer, etc. and just relax and see what the city has to offer.
