Week Of Culture 2008 in Italy - most everything is free!

Every year Italy has a Week of Culture where all culture museums, monuments & archaelogical sites are free. This year will be March 25-31.
This can literaly save a family a few hundred dollars. We were there 2 years ago & got into the Colosseum/Palatine Hill, Capitol Hill Museum, Castle San Angelo, the Academia & the Uffizi among other museums for free. (It did not cover the Vatican Museum.

The website is www.beniculturali.it

We will happen to be in Rome again this year for part of the Week of Culture. My question to anyone is - does this free week cover the Borghese & the Baths of Diocleyian or Caracalla? We have not been to these places before. Thanks.

The Vatican is not part of Italy, so it is not part of the Culture Week.

The Borghese and the Baths of Caracalla are both owned and administered by the Italian government, so admission will be free.

The Baths of Diocletian, as such, are not a museum or archeological site. One location of the National Roman Museum is located in the Baths of Diocletian (admission free during Settimana della Cultura) as is the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli (admission free all the time).

The Diocletian Baths Area is OFTEN free entry: I don't know why...hey, its Italy, not all things are explained. But it is an amazing site of much historical interest and really atmospheric.
