Week in Interlaken at end of February

We, a group of 4 women, will be staying with Swiss friends at their home for 1 week in Interlaken/Unterseen, skiing for 5 days at in the Jungfrau Ski Region. Before returning to Zurich to fly home, we plan to relax at moderately priced thermal spa for a couple of days. We would like advice on which location is recommended. We have considered Thermal Baths in Vals but they are too expensive and so we have narrowed it down to Leukerbad or Ovronnas. Which area is noted for having more to do - even better nightlife? What we mean by that is great restaurants, shopping, fun bars and/or clubs where there are middle aged people not just 20 somethings, a chance to experience local culture.

Leukerbad would be better (Btw, is it really less expensive than Vals? Cannot imagine that.) but do not expect any shopping or nightlife that can compare to a bigger city (like Zürich).

Leukerbad has 8 different hot springs and a solid infrastructure. Some good restaurants with famous local specialities The guestst are rather middle-aged and the nightlife isn't famous (as mentioned above).
2 cableways up to 2300 metres, tons of hiking trails and every hr a bus down to Leuk railway station.

Leukerbad is the best thermal spa in the area. Ovronnaz is smaller, more deserted in low season, with much less hotels many chalets which are only occupied in high season.

Other thermal spas in the greater area are Saillon, Lavey, Moerel Breiten and Bognanco.
Thermal baths without any hotels or other infrastructure at Brigerbad and Crodo (the latter open on weekends only).

Far away from Bernese Oberland/Valais, you find the thermal spas of Yverdon, Charmey, Bellingen, Rheinfelden, Schinznach, Zurzach, Bad Ragaz-Pfaefers, Vals and Scuol.

So it sounds like Leukerbad would be the best choice for four young-at-heart 50 year old women to relax and chill after 5 days of alpine skiing??

I think so, although there are alpine ski pists around Leukerbad too. Just one thing: due to the up to 1000 metres high cliffs around the village (mainly in the North and in the West), Leukerbad has actually not much sunshine. But in February/March, things will be fine again.
