We stayed at the Jury's Inn on the River Liffey. Very nice and includes breakfast.

I suggest getting a day pass for the buses. You can get on and off at various stops. The pass is for 24 hrs...so we actually used it two sep. days. It makes stops at Trinity College, St. Patricks, Kilmainham Goal. I STRONGLY suggest Kilmainham Goal - it was an excellent tour. At Trinity college it is def. worth the cost of entering the library.

And of course go to St.James Gate - the pint at the top of the brewery is amazing. :-D

crazeecat: You might want to post your own thread re: the Harcourt Hotel. You might get a few more responses. We stayed there in August of 2004, as did my brother and sister-in-law. They stayed in the front of the hotel and had a lot of trouble with the noise. We stayed in the back and had no street noise, although there was some kind of fan noise outside, which was kind of like white noise, anyway. They have a nice pub in the Harcourt, and, at that point, had a trio that performed in the lounge with Irish ballads in the evenings. We really liked it, and ended our days in the lounge every night. It's about a ten minute walk to St. Stephen's Green, and maybe 25 minutes to Temple Bar. Also, if you can find it, there's a beautiful urban park with a waterfall and hedge maze just about a block from there. You'll see it on maps.

Enjoy your stay!

Thank you Mexicobeachbum for your helpful insight to the Harcourt. Sounds like we'll be close to everything we want to see. If we get a noisy room, that's okay, we'll sleep on the plane on the way home! LOL So xcited...only a month and a half to go!
