Week end rates

Often but not always I have found great week end rates in Europe, like in Lyon in beautiful Hotel Royal, Hotel Tivoli both in Oporto and Coimbra and most recently for our next trip in late Feb/March in Madrid where I have made reservations at four stars superior, Galgos Melia in Salamanca barrio of Madrid, for 117 including buffet breakfast for two.
I am now looking for something in Rome, where we shall also be on a week end( Feb 23,24 and 25 caming back during the week of March 1st.)
My questions are, have you found good week end rates in your previous travels?, anything in ROme?

I am topping because I feel this is information that can be of interest to all of us.

Graziella5b: You will likely get better response if you re-post w/ a title something like "Are Rome hotel rates lower on weekends?"

"Week end rates" could be asking about rental cars, cell phone useage, hotels or just about anything anywhere in Europe . . . .

I've found a few, but they are irrelevant to Rome. It's like any city in N America/Europe, you can get some cheaper rates on weekends sometimes if they cater to business travelers enough that it is advantageous for them to lower weekend rates to get clients because business people aren't there.

I have seen lower weekend rates at the Melia hotel in Rome, but that's probably not a location you'd prefer.

You are probably in a time period where you can get good winter rates. Also check ratestogo.com and laterooms.com .

You are right janis thank you for your sugestion.
I have seen some hotels in Rome offering week end rates but most of the nice ones are too far out.
The one we got in Madrid , GalgosMelia was a great find. I just checked but the offer is no longer available.
I made the reservations a few days ago.
