"Wedding Village" in Castille---from NY Times

Looks like a picturesque town:

Hi Scrunchita...thanks for the article. I have not seen the movie, have you?

Looks like a good place to visit.
Kind of Pedraza -esq in those photos.

Are you traveling soon?

It a bit smaller and more basic than Pedraza, but an interesting stop none the less.

Yes, Ana--it did bring back memories of our "secret" village! It does not seem to be too far from the village in the article--thagt architecgture sounds really compelling.

How I long to return to Spain! I hope I can convince the travel partner to make a trip next year...I still want to explore Catalunya.

Soon we are leaving for Italy for 7 days. Flying through Madrid which is SO tempting...it is only about an hour or so to the lechazo trail from the airport, as I remember.

Campillo de Ranas is off the beaten path in the "Black Villages" route (Guadalajara).

Ana: Where are you off to?? Wherever it may be, I wish you Buen Viaje. Are you going to our special place?

REvulgo: Many thanks for those photos--I need to do some reading about that area..

No not our place this time (I am waiting for you & the other Hurok sister for that)

We are going with 3 other couples on a "leusure" tour (it is turning out to be a good idea this time) 4 days Madrid three Sevilla & three Torremolinos, then on our own a week with one of the couples who have a timeshare in Benalmadena. These are old friends going back many many years. Will definately report back.
