Website or e-mail for Le Florimond in Paris?
I've read many great things about Le Florimond in Paris and am REALLY looking forward to eating there. I'd like to make a reservation, but I can't find an e-mail address or website anywhere! Anyone know if they have either? I do have the phone number for the restaurant, but I'm trying to avoid the cost of an international phone call and the embarrassment of my poor attempts at speaking French. :) Thanks!
(We'd like to go there on a Thursday night, so maybe we won't even need reservations. If all else fails, we'll just go there in person when we arrive in Paris and hope they have a table available for that night!) |
HI
even simple hotels are almost always happy to do this for you, just ask enjoy it |
The "cost of an international phone call" really is not that big of a deal. Why not try calling and either speaking in English or attempting French, depending on your French skills. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?

You can probably go a day early or even early on the day you want and get a reservation. Pascal, the owner chef speaks English so you could just call and hope he is there. The others do not speak English.
01 45 55 40 38 I see you already have this. It won't cost that much. |
Most restaurants do not take reservations through email, and most small independent restaurants do not have web sites. For the ones that do, it is usually just informative and doesn't take online reservations.

Le Florimond is a tiny restaurant and does not have e-mail or a website to my knowledge. If you're concerned about not speaking French, why not e-mail your hotel now, before you leave, and ask them to reserve for you. Or take a small risk and call the restaurant - if you use 1016868 it's only about 10 cents a minute - not a big expense.

I agree with Elaine:
"even simple hotels are almost always happy to do this for you, just ask" I've done this myself. I tried calling, but had only a 50% success rate. I'm going back to having my small hotels make reservations for me. ~Liz |
We were there Thurs. night two weeks ago. I don't speak French either, but called early that same afternoon and got a reservation without a problem. The maitre d'/head waiter also speaks some english (can't remember his name, but what a nice guy).
Enjoy Le Florimond. Our dining experience there was easily the best of our week in Paris. |
The "nice guy" "beachbum" refered to is Laurent Martin and he is the one that "fronts"the restaurant. It is adviseable to
book ahead if you want a specific time but you will enjoy the cooking of Pascal re- gardless of when you eat there. |
As always, thanks to all for the advice!
