Web site for learning foreign languages?? Polish, Hungarian etc

I tried to do a search but I can't find the website that I have seen people talk about for learning a few words of a language. We are going to Eastern Europe the end of September and would like to learn to say a few words and phrases in each language. Would some please tell us the seb site?? Thanks

Dear Cherigal,

I commend you for wanting to be a pleasant guest, but it is impossible for you to learn how to pronounce Hungarian or Polish. The same is true of Czech and Danish.

For example the name of the former labor leader Lech Walensa is pronounced something like "Wesh Favesa".

this website provides tutorial/lessons for about 80 languages, you will need a sound card (all/most computers come with one) to listen to the pronunciation.

Have fun!

Here's a site for learning a little Hungarian: http://www.people.fas.harvard.edu/~a...hungarian.html

I had trouble with Czech and Polish pronunciation, but then, I felt like I really didn't give it a reasonable try.

Wroclaw is another one that is hard to train your mind, even if you know how it should go.

"Vroats-swaff", or something like that - - right?

Best wishes,

Rex
