Weather temps in May/June in UK please?

Hi,

I saw a website that gave either average temps or long range forecasts for the UK. I thought I'd seen it on this forum and also thought I had bookmarked it. Now I can't find it and will be going to the UK in May/June. Need to know what type of clothes to take.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.
12 to 18 degrees C. It varies from place to place. But weather should be sunny but still chilly. No winter woolies necessary but longsleeve shirst rather than shorts and you will need rain gear.

We have a saying in Scotland "Ne'er cast a cloot till May is oot!" (Don't be foled by early spring weather- is the non-literal translation)

We were there 2 yrs ago in early June, although this may not be a reflection on the weather this year. It was generally cool - light jacket or sweatshirt, especially if you take a boat ride on the Thames. There were some sunny days, but most days had some rain. The rain we encountered usually did not last all day & as long as you are prepared for it, did not stop us from doing things. When it rained in London, we went to Wales for the day, or took a trip to Edinburgh. When the weather forecast showed rain in Wales, we stayed in London for the day, & went to Wales the next day - which is when the rain was in London.
I live in southern england where the weather is somewhat warmer. You can never rely on the weather anywhere in the uk but if you wear layers of clothing you can adjust accordingly. Even if you live in england you never know what clothes to wear.

We've been on several trips that we have just "cooked", especially in the Cotswolds and Lake District. Also, have frozen to the bone on the Whiskey Trail in Scotland. Most trips have been sunny, no or very little rain. But, you never know and have to be prepared for anything. All but one of our trips have been in June...the other, in September.
