We are going the last week in September and first few days of October. Think September and October are the high season in that area. From what I saw on the average temperature charts it should be in the 70s during the day and cool at night. But anything can happen with the weather.

I think it would be a perfect time to be there.

I would be surprised if it was in the 70's in Vienna the second half of October. I think the average temp is in the 60's but you "could" have warmer days or much colder days.

We did these cities about 4 years ago and the weather was mostly pleasant - I don't remember ever being cold, and never wore anything more than a long-sleeve shirt and jacket, maybe a sweater in the evening. The coolest day was the last, and we went to Charles Bridge on Saturday a.m. for a last few photos. It was damp and cool but sunny (if that makes sense), lots of ppl about, watched a great band passing a bottle of red wine around (at 10 a.m.!) as they played. A bit of drizzle now and then, but nothing major. If the jazz boat is still around in Prague, consider that for an evening entertainment.
