Weather in Venice, in November?

We are planning a trip to Venice, Florence and Rome. What kind of weather should we expect in Venice in November? More importantly should we be concerned about high tide season and the streets being flooded? Thank you.

Normally SueZ you can expect cold weather and rain and probably at some point flooding at the Piazza San Marco. You would want to pack accordingly.

I was in Venice the second week of November 2005 - arrived to grey skies and rain which gave way to blue skies a mild tempsfor the rest of the week, with the last day foggy and misty. Unfortunately - no acqua alta. A co-worker who was in Venice in October experienced acqua alta.

for weather trends in the past, you can look at
weatherbase.com, wunderground.com, and accuweather.com
For full moon (high tide) schedules, you can check
www.almanac.com/details/moondays.html

The aqua alta (high water) flooding that occurs from time to time is a combination of tides, winds, rain, etc, so it is usually hard to predict much in advance. As mentioned, the flooding is usually confined to the Piazza, which is the lowest point in Venice. Everyone copes, and some hotels lend out boots.

Out of my 8 visits to Venice, 4 nights each time, 5 were in mid November. I knew the weather could be rainny and colder (obviously it's winter starting) so I was ready for evetuality with warm clothes, etc. Once I had all days sunny (after misty morning) and other times a bit of rain and cloud but always 2 days of sun, when I chose to visit the islands, Murano and Burano. A bit of acqua alta too (had a serous one 3rd of Dec last year

A bit of acqua alta too, had a serious one on 3rd of Dec last year for the first time, was a great fun ! It lasted only for about 8.00 - 13.00 as usual.
