Weather in Spain & Portugal in November
 

I was hoping someone can help me out. I am trying to plan a trip to Spain & Portugal in November. I will be leaving from NYC on the 1st and returning on the 14th. These are the places I was thinking of going to: Madrid, Cordoba, Granada, Mijas, Costa del Sol, Seville, Lisbon, and Salamanca. Does anyone know what the weather in these areas is like in November? Should I expect a lot of rainfall? Any insight would help. Thanks!

You could expect a broad spectrum of weather possibilities with this many destinations in November. similar to going to Denver, Albuquerque, San Diego and Seattle.

And though you didn't ask - - this is a very rushed itinerary for 14 days. Looks like virtually 40% of your time moving from point A to B (to C to D, etc) - - and 60% or less actually seeing the places you want to see.

And remember, it gets dark by 5 om in November.

I just arrived back from Spain and Portugal as well and if I remember correctly the weather in the south of the countries is still warm in October. By november it should be cooler...I mean, not beach weather, but I doubt you'll need a heavy jacket. I don't know you're story, but if you're young, you HAVE to go to Lagos, Portugal. I was only supossed to stay for 4 days, and ended up there for more than 2 weeks. If you go, and are young and doing the "backpacking thing" stay at this hostal called the rising cock. you can check out their website, although it's just opened.

My wife & I did Portugal & Spain for 2 weeks in November '02. The weather was all over the place. It rained sideways in Porto and La Coruña and was beautiful when we were in Lisbon in the beginning and end of our trip. The rest of the time it was a bit overcast here and there. We still had a great time though.

Judging by where you're going, the weather should be a bit more stable though. Enjoy your trip.

I was in Spain during Thanksgiving week a few years ago. In Madrid it was cold - we needed decent jackets and gloves (and even scarves). It was around 40 degrees F. In Costa de Sol, it was warmer, in the 60s, but we still needed long sleaves.
