Weather in Spain?

Our plans are to leave California Aug. 17 for either Madrid or Barcelona and tour the country by car returning home Sept. 3....We can't go any later...I'm real nervous about it being too hot for extensive walking. I've seen a couple of weather sites....one says it will be in the high 80's - 90's the other says low 80's....any ideas?

Thanks!

If you towards the north and the coast it will not be too bad. Just don't go to the South. I was in Madrid at the end of August alst year and it was in the high 80's, no humidity. It was great. But maybe I was lucky .

I was in Granada and Seville in late August some years ago, it was over 100 degrees .
Madrid was better - high 80's, but still hot for EXTENSIVE walking during mid day .

So far this year the weather, especially around Madrid, Extremadura, some parts of the Med coast has been bad. I.e. very wet. So who can say what the weather will be like when you get here.

hi, Bubbao,

the north coast is not called the "costa verde" for nothing. I'd fly into Barcelona, then if that's too hot, head for the mountains and the north.

regards, ann
