Weather in Southern Italy in October???

Hello all.
My fiance and I have decided on a date for the wedding so our honeymoon will fall in early October. We are thinking of heading to the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Ischia, and not sure what else. haven't figured out itinerary yet because we were wondering about the weather at this time as well as the water temperature for swimming. We both love being in the water and soaking up the sun so if it wont be a great time for this we may choose another destination. We have never been to Italy and dont know much about the area so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

No one can predict. We had terrible weather (rain almost every day) last year during the third week of September on Ischia.

I would not count on daily beach time in early October, although the water itself may be all right for swimming and I am sure people will be in the water. You might get lucky but you cannot count on it.

Weather Underground has a lot of information too. (wunderground.com) Fodor's using their weather info on this site. If you go to the Amalfi Coast page, there's a weather section (scroll down to middle of the page) and you can put in your arrival date. Gives what the average temps have been in the past.

Here are the facts for Sorrento. If you want a beach vacation try Barbados---Italy has so much more.
