Weather in Southern Italy in late May
My husband and I will be traveling to Italy May 15-24th on a belated honeymoon, and want to know if it will be beach weather yet in the Calabria area? We are staying at one of the resorts near Pizzo--any ideas if the temps/water temp will be good for sunbathing? If not, any other suggestions for places that would be warm enough? We are tied into that specific week because of his schedule, so we can't change the dates. Thanks!

Here are the facts for Sorrento--hardly hot but pleasant.
We will be there the same time but primarily in Praiano

Thanks--we would like to sit on the beach some--not as interested in actually getting in the water, but wondering if the weather will be even too cold to be in a bathing suit!! I have seen mixed reviews and weather forecasts for the area--just wondering if it is ever actually warmer by the coast than inland nearer the mountains...if the temps might actually be a few degrees higher on the coast.

We;ve been to the Amalfi area twice in late May and the hotel pool was open and heavily used. We didn;t swim in the sea - but did put our toes in and it seemed fine (but we're used to the north Atlantic - it might seem cold if you're from FL),
