Weather in Sorrento;November

Traveling Nov. 8 to Rome and then to Sorrento. Those of you who have traveled this time of year, what kind of weather can we expect? Temps moderate? We're wondering if we will need to pack a bunch of warm clothes.Thanks.

Well, I couldn't access Ira's suggested website. Perhaps you, Bryarsmom, will have better luck.

We were in Sorrento at the very end of October 2002. It was beautiful. I wore khaki pants or shorts, cotton shirt and sandals for five days. Took a sweater but rarely wore it until evening. (The only exception was a morning on Capri when the fog rolled in and then out.)

I was concerned that I'd look too summery, especially in sandals, but everyone was dressed similarly. One local said it had been much cooler the week before.

My guess is you should have a jacket and regular shoes, but I doubt you'd need a bunch of warm clothes.

I usually go to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast in October. Have been there as late as Nov. 10. Daytime highs were low 70s and nights were 55-62. With a light jacket you could still enjoy outdoor cafes at night.

My wife and I were in Sorrento this past mid-November for a week. Weather was comfortable; mid 60s to mid to high 70s when the sun was out. It did rain a few days and the temperature dropped some, but for us (we're from New England area) it was still warm and comfortable. What I did notice however was that the American tourists including ourselves were dressed for summer but the locals all wore jackets more befitting a cool fall day. I guess its what your body is acclimated too. If you get cold easy, bring a light jacket or sweater.
