Weather in Sept or Oct for Amalfi Coast?
What is the weather like for the Amalfi Coast in Sept? What is it like in October?
The reason why I ask is because many hotels have discounts if you go in October and I don't mind going in the off season if the weather is nice. What I mean by nice is not cold and able to enjoy the pool and layout. I don't need it to be 90 degrees to lay out. In fact, I think that is too hot because we will be sighseeing and having it too hot is a bad thing....
Also, if you could be specific with your thoughts on October because many hotels have certain days in Oct. that are considered low season. For example, after the 10th of October......is that low season because it is too cold to lay by the pool? I really don't want to worry abour rainy weather either.

There is a reason why later Oct. has lower prices. Here are the facts for Sorrento--should be about the same. I would feel comfortable the first half of Oct.

Daytime temps may be in the 70's-80's in early Oct.
Nights may be a little cool, so bring a wrap as it can easily get down in the 50's. IMO, October is the best time because the crowds are gone, and you can enjoy everything without standing in line....and generally, the weather is great. However, weather is unpredictable. I can remember summers in Europe when we needed to turn on the heat because it was so chilly and damp. Rain...cannot be predicted. Bring an umbrella.

I've visited this area aften and in late Sept/early Oct for the past 3 years. (and going again soon)
Overall, the weather is great this time of year. Days are warm where you feel comfortable and not too hot in jeans or pants and a T shirt. In the evening it does get chilly and I always need to add a jacket or change to a heavier layer.
I don't know about swimming pools at hotels, but that may be something the hotel decides based on weather and occupancy rather than date alone. During the time we are there we always manage a beach day or two in Massa Lubrense. The beaches in this area are small and get very crowded, where you really are packed in like sardines, especially in August through mid Sept. Later in Sept there is much more space on the beach, the parking lots, on the roads, etc.
There is a good chance of rain, but hopefully you'd stay at least a week so your chances of sunny days are better. I remember a few years back I went on a jaunt to Prague for 4 days where it was a bit cooler and rained every day. It was miserable, but I felt a bit better when I heard from my husband back in Italy that it was raining constantly there too.
October is a good time to visit, but if you really want time to lay out in the sun, your chances are better if you start your trip before mid October.
