Weather in Pyrenees Early September

We are going on a hiking trip in the central Pyrenees during the first week in September. Trying to figure out how to pack. Wondering what the weather is like. Any suggestions?

The Aragon Pyrenees have the highest peaks, but you should be clear of any snow until mid-October. It will be warm during the daylight hours, but a bit cooler in the evening. You can also expect some rain and possible thunderstorms, but, like hiking in the Cascade Mountains of the Pacific Northwest, you should be prepared for any eventuallity. Things can take a sudden turn when you least expect it when you're in the Pyrenees.

Have you checked web-sites that provide detailed weather and climate statistics? My favorite is timeanddate.com; others prefer wunderground.com, but you have TONS of options, and most guidebooks will say something about typical historic weather patterns.

As Robert says, be prepared for rain, hot to cold temps, etc. Take layers and weather gear.

Who knows weather is a magic thing which can throw nasties into the mix. Sometimes you can get terrible storms other times the weather can be just calm and sunny.
If anyone here tells you how it is going to be they are wasted on this forum maybe they should work for a weather forecasting company. They need some knowledgable folks to work for them.
