weather in Portugal

Hello,
We are planing a trip to Portugal on August 8 for 30 days starting from Lisbom and going up to Porto and Braga.
We are concern its going to be very hot (we saw it 35C in Lisbon today) - If so we may change our plan and go to Scotland.
Any reccomendations about how hot it realy gets in August ?
Thnaks for your help

I think I should elaborate more my last post. Nobody can guarantee the exact temperature in Portugal between 8 August and 8 Septembre, but according to the statistics it's very likely that you may find days with temperatures above 35C. If you think that this may ruin your trip, then I think that Scotland is a safer option.

In Portugal you will not avoid 35. It is a southern country and is hot in the summer. If you want much cooler weather you must go much further north - Scotland, Ireland or Scandinavia. Or go to Portugal at a different time of year.

(35 is actually not that hot - today in New York is going to be 38.)
