Weather in Paris in early June???
 

My cousin was in Italy last summer and says weather in Italy is hot, is this the same for Paris??? How hot/chilly does it get??? What is the temperature in fahrenheit??? I need to plan what type of clothing should take. As always, Thanks!!

Paris is on the same latitude about as Seattle, though not as rainy. In my Rick Steves Paris book, it says Paris has a low temperature of 55, high of about 73, rains 18 of the 30 days.

Dress for late spring weather (layers) and take an umbrella just in case.

Paris in June, or in most any other month, has somewhat unpredictable weather. I've been there when I needed a warm coat in June, and I've been there when it was pretty hot (for Paris anyway). If you are looking for temperatures, expect an average high during the day of about low to mid 80's and average low in the early morning of about mid to high 60's -- all in all, the averages are not bad.

If I were you, I'd take a light rainproof jacket and a light sweater, then just layer them over your normal clothing depending on the weather for that day. And it will rain too, so have a compact folding umbrella that you can carry around. There is no telling when the rain will fall, and the only indication you might get in the summer is that the humidity will start to feel very high. Good luck on your trip.

My temperature ranges were given out of memory. After reading the note from Jules, I looked up the averages and I believe he/she is more correct. Highs on the average should be in the mid-70's and low's in the high 50's, according to my references. Sorry for the misleading data; from now on I'll not rely on memory. Have fun.

Use one of the sites listed above to get a general idea of the weather on average. That said, I have been in Paris in early June twice in the past 5 years. Once (2003, a really hot summer in France) it was really hot and dry - in the high 80s. Once, it was chilly and either rainy or cloudy most of the time with an occasional brilliantly sunny, cool day. So, there is no telling. Go prepared for almost anything.

I was in Paris the first week in June in 2002. The day we arrived and the following day it was in the low 70's and kind of muggy. After that it was in the low to mid 60's and varied each day: some sun, some overcast, some drizzle and an occaisionl hard rain. So, we had it all. My paper today said 60 degrees for Paris today. Take your umbrella, and do layers. I had been watching the daily temps for London and Paris the week before our trip. I had mostly knits, had sweater coat but also for some reason put in a light weight T-shirt and a Tencel overshirt. I was glad to have it my first two days in Paris when it was fairly warm. The rest of the time, back to the knits.
