Weather in October/November
My frequent miles on USAir are limited because they only have one flight per day. Thus, my mileage can be used seemingly on October 19-November 11. I have more options should I chose to go to Frankfurt. What is the weather Italian like during this period. My itinerary would be:
Cleveland-Rome-three days
Rome to Lake Como- two days
Lake Como-Venice- three days
Venice to Florence - three days
Florence to Tuscany - four days
Tuscany to Naples/Coast - three days
Naples-Rome - a few days.

Any insights on the timing and itinary.

Rome to lake como is a pretty good poke. I would change things around a little but to answer your weather question, the sooner the better. November, I am told ,is generally the wettist month.

We were in Italy from Oct. 19 to Oct. 26, 2002. The weather was great! We were in Umbria, Tuscany and Cinque Terre. Only had light showers one day - the rest was sunny and 70 - 75 degrees! The evenings were cooler, but still great!

We've been to Italy three times between early October and late November since 1999. We had a some rain, but mostly sunny, leather-jacket weather! Definitely warm enough to spend as time as you want outdoors and wonderfully uncrowded with tourists.

I was in Italy in October and the weather was great. It rained lightly only 2 days that I was there. Naples & Rome were sunny, no rain at all, & temperatures were in the low to mid 70's during the day. I can't speak for Northern Italy since I wasn't there, but I believe it's a little colder & wetter than southern & central Italy at that time. October is also nice because there's not as many crowds & tourists as there are during the peak season.
