Weather in London - rain,rain,rain?

Heading to London Thursday. Weather reports show rain everyday (as they have for the past few weeks). Can we expect heavy or constant rain? Or is it more likely to be intermittent and light? I know the weather is unpredictable but just curious how heavy the rain has been or might be expected to be.

You can expect some rain almost every day at this time of the year. However, we are talking about light showers NOT continuous or heavy. A light raincoat and folding umbrella are all you need. It's unseasonably warm at the moment & the heating inside buildings seems unnecessary.

I was in London last Friday night and Saturday. Friday was a steady drizzle and saturday was just sprinkels on and off. Hope this helps and have a great trip.

There are four kinds of weather in London:

1. slow steady drizzle

2. hard soaking rain

3. blustery wind-driven rain which hurls the rain drops at you like bullets.

4. the fourth type of weather is a myth. no one has actually ever experienced it.
Actually I was in London Dec 3 - 11 and the weather forecasts showed rain almost every day but I ended using my umbrella ONCE. It was vvvery cold but dry the whole week - a little drizzle one day and about 20 mins of rain another.

What ever the weather is it will change three or four times during an average day.
