Weather in Italy
How is the weather in Italy for sightseeing in March compared to June? The airfare is so much less coming from the US in March.

Colder, wetter, possibility of snow
Care to say WHERE in Italy you intend travelling |
Ah, Amy, you have asked the unanswerable question. I will say that in 2005 I was in Italy in March, and this past summer, I was there in June. I had lovely weather both times. March of course is much more variable and can be cool and rainy. It also can be warm and sunny. If I were you, I would go in March because you will avoid the big crowds that start in June and build throughout the summer, the airfare is cheaper, and the trip will be lovely no matter the weather.

It depends on WHERE you are. It's like asking what the temperature is in California in August.

I was just reading a post about Rome In January in which the poster said the daytime temps were in the 60s- perfect IMO. I am thinking of changing plans from April to perhaps March- what say, anyone??

We plan on staying in Florence & Rome, with day trips to Venice and Positano is the plan.

Amy,
Goto www.wunderground.com Enter one of your cities in the search box. Scroll down to History/Almanac and pick a date in March or June. Click "Go" Click on "Monthly" and then scroll down. You will see the entire month with the high/low and whether it was sunny, rainy, or whatever. |
