weather/crowds late march thru mid april

Hi - planning my first trip to the Emerald Isle, and am looking at the end of March, thru mid April. I know it will be cold - but how cold? How are the crowds?

Thanks!
Monica

No it will not be cold. It really doesn;t get very cold in ireland ever. It may be coolish or warmish - there's no way to tell exactly until shortly before you go. Temps will probably be in the 50's - just bring clothing to layer. It's a little early in the year to be really crowded.

go to a search engine like Google and type in the name of the city, Ireland and the word weather...you'll reach the weather underground site which will tell you the appropriate forecast..OR you can rely on the amateur meterologists who post replies here.

FYI, today in Ireland the highs are in the low 50's. Suggest you do a detailed weather search before you pack - a couple of days before leaving -to get more exact info.

JonJon is so pleasant isn't he? nytraveler is right as far as the average is concerned. Low 50's are the averages ACCORDING TO SOME OF THOSE WEATHER SITES. But like weather anywhere, it could be warmer and it could be colder. It will probably rain.

Crowds should not be an issue. You will see some tourists, but it won't be packed by any means. Most sites will be open then, though a few don't open until May which is also true of a few B&Bs. You should be able to have a great time.
