I prefer the looks to the smell.
But do you usually take a bath during a flight?
I so far have not.

If you gotta have toothpaste on the long flight, just dab some on a piece of wax paper and fold it up in your pocket. Same with lip gloss. I doubt the x-ray machine will pick it up or a strip search will land you to jail.

Toothette is a sanitary disposable "toothbrush" for oral care. My family used them recently for an overseas trip.

They are "somewhat" effective. Mildly flavored and slightly abrasive, but they do not produce a foam as though they had toothpaste in them. Whatever chemical is in the pink foam is clear.

Thanks Marianna, the 28th of this month at 7:50AM I will be landing in my beautiful native city: The glorious Rome.

My hubby used to comment in a nonchalant way everytime I gained few pounds, it sure kept me for gainings..

Thanks Croque_Madame, I'd forgotten about those things. I'll take a look.

Thank you also, Budman, I would worry about the karma. The stuff would probably end up all over my clothes and that would be embarrassing besides I would rather explain the little baggie of peppermint scented white powder.

Today my friend told me about Oral B Brush-Ups Textured Teeth Wipes. I will bring these on board.

Although I dont wear alot of makeup it is nice to wash my face and apply a small amount before I get off the plane. A bit of powder, blush, lipstick and mascara does wonders.

Maybe I will be brave and not wear any on the plane... On second thought..

Banning all carryon luggage would be my personal dream come true. Three times in my life I've been on flights when, due to violent turbulence or due to problems (euphemistically speaking) on landing, the overhead bins popped open and bags flew out. Only once was someone injured, but the potential for injury is serious. And very few of the airlines are willing to incur passengers' anger by enforcing their own rules about the size and number of carryon bags.

I saw a letter today from somebody flying to Australia.
She said that flying all that way without a change of knickers was unthinkable, so she was going to wear a spare pair on her head.

4-oz of liquid non-prescribed medicine?
mmmm... would that be "each"? Or, can all those wanting to carry the saline solution they squeeze up their noze and some visine for their contact lenses?

MissPrism, I laughed out loud at the woman with knickers on her head!

The only thing that will bother me on a transatlantic flight is not being able to brush my teeth before deplaning. After eight hours on a plane, I feel scrungy enough.

As noted, those most essential toiletries could be the last thing to go into the checked bag so that, upon arrival, one could retrieve them and use an airport restroom for some freshening up before heading into town.

Myself and 2 others are going to Italy at the end of September and I couldn't be happier that they are keeping the carry-on items to a minimum!

oh and thanks for all the laughs and helpful suggestions, too
