Ummm... we all have our own other ways of wasting additional internet time, ya'know?

Mine is e-scrabble.com

Best wishes,

Rex

You're too funny! :)

Yes, please join in the game!

yk Nov 19th, 2004 01:49 PM

Ok now, rex. Don't give me any more ideas...

111op Nov 22nd, 2004 03:02 AM

Well, but then if you play the game here, rex, you'll be able to show off ! :-)

Intrepid1 Nov 22nd, 2004 03:29 AM

I just added an amended clue on the other thread

111op Nov 22nd, 2004 03:34 AM

Great, thanks. I'll take a look later. It's good to have new people as I think that both yk and I are exhausting our cache of clues....

111op Nov 22nd, 2004 08:01 AM

Hi, I got Intrepid's clue with the extensive hints, so I'm inviting people to post another clue.

Here's your chance to play!

111op Nov 22nd, 2004 09:53 AM

I just posted a new clue. This one should be very doable as well.

grandmere has kindly let someone else take her place. So, another opportunity, people!

Maybe we need to provide monetary incentives. :-)

I would rather have my appendix removed with a plastic spoon.

If there's not enough activity on the Fodors game thread, you might like to play on th copycat game thread on the Francophile forum. It's in English. The answers have to be related in some way to France, French culture, French people, etc. Here's the link to the first post. There happens to be an unsolved clue still open now.

111op Nov 23rd, 2004 03:46 AM

How difficult is it, cmt?

I should probably just look at one thing....

Or maybe I should just stealing other clues from the other forum and put them here. :-)

cmt Nov 23rd, 2004 03:47 AM

Or you can play on a similar thread on the Italian Language forum. I give you permission to take my turn. (I forgot that it was my turn, and no one reminded me, so the thread died.) The original rule was that the clues had to be posted in Italian, but, for now, if you don't know any Italian at all, but seriously want to post and solve clues re Italian culture, go ahead. http://forums.about.com/ab-italian/messages?msg=2793.1

111op: It is generally medium difficulty--not as obscure as some of the Fodors ones can be, and not multiple answers in one puzzle usually. But it all depends on who is playing at the moment. One thing that makes it easier is we know that all clues are French-related, so that limits things. You can read through the thread and see what it's like. The current clue is about some dog in French lit.

111op Nov 23rd, 2004 04:00 AM

Are you sure about the French link, cmt? When I pasted it to my broswer I get redirected....

cmt Nov 23rd, 2004 04:04 AM

The link is good. Try again. (If you aren't logged into a Delphi ID, click on the "enter as a guest" option. If it still doesn't work, log into you Delphi account and then try the link again.

111op Nov 23rd, 2004 04:15 AM

Thanks, I see it now. I don't know it off the top of my head though.

For those interested:

THE NEXT WORD
is a dog's name in 8 letters with the T of our iceman occupying the 6th and 7th spots. That dog is famous in French lit for walking a great male writer that we all know.

Hi! Just dropping by to say hi from Hong Kong. I see that there are more people playing the crossword thread, yippeee!

111op Nov 26th, 2004 03:09 AM

Maybe you should post a clue from Hong Kong. :-)

When are you coming back?
