We have the apartment. Now we just have to get there.
We are two moms and two teenage girls who thought about renting this:

which airport?

Private Limo. Airport shuttle or cab will cost about 55-65E. You can take the RER B to Chatelet, transfer tot he Metro line 4 to Odeon and transfer to Metro line 10. Get off at Jussieu - about 10E pp. ((I)) |
Charles de Gaulle

If the RER/Metro fare is 10 Euro pp and requires two changes, then a taxi for four is a wise idea. At CDG they have larger station wagon or mini van taxis, just tell the starter there you have four people and he can show you to one. We did my husband, my parents and I and it is a good way to start the trip even if you have to compromise expenses in other areas.

The Paris Metro can be difficult to negotiate with luggage UNLESS your apertment is near a direct line from the airport. Too many of the metro stations have stairs and are very busy making a transit with big bags dicey. I would ask the apartment company or owner and see if they suggest an acceptable alternative, if not just bite the bullet and take a cab. You're savign alot of E's by getting an apartment, right? Treat yourself to strees free transfer!
|
Take a cab, that address isn't even very near a metro stop, and the closest stop would still require two transfers (RER to metro line 6 to metro line 5). That particular area is not good for getting public transportation from the airport.
|
BTW, that looks like a nice apartment and I do like that general area myself, do you mind my asking how much you are paying to rent that? That agency doesn't seem to list prices on it. Actually, even though I know that area fairly well, that was one street name I had to look up as I wasn't familiar with it. It's kind of in the middle of some school buildings.

It's 1129e a week.
|
thank you for the info. That's not too bad, although still a little more than I would spend, unfortunately. 125-150 euro a day is kind of my limit, but you never know.

This is a good service that you might want to look at.
They will meet you upon your exit from customs with your name on a sign. You ore arrange online..... |

Thanks, gracejoan, for the shuttle tip. And, christina, if you enter the paris address site through the home page (http://www.parisaddress.com/paris-ap...ntal/index.php) there's a way of figuring the daily, weekly and monthly rate for each apartment.

We used Paris-Shuttle. 79 Euro for 2. CDG to our hotel in the 3arr--- Hotel to ORY. We arrived in Paris and phoned them from the luggage area. 5 minutes later we was outside and they were there waiting for us. 7 days later they were there at 7:00 am on the dot to take us to ORY.
